Sunday, September 23, 2007 What to say when someone asks you “Why aren’t you married yet?”>by Gayla McCord on August 31st, 2007 http://www.datingdames.com/what-to-say-when-someone-asks-you-why-arent-you-married-yet/
1. You haven’t asked yet. 2. I was hoping to do something meaningful with my life. 3. What? And spoil my great sex life? 4. Why aren’t you thin yet? 5. Because I just love hearing this question. 6. Just lucky, I guess. 7. It gives my mother something to live for. 8. My fiancee is awaiting his/her parole. 9. I’m still hoping for a shot at Miss/Mr. America. 10. Do you know how hard it is to get two tickets to Miss Saigon? 11. I’m waiting until I get to be your age. 12. It didn’t seem worth a blood test. 13. I already have enough laundry to do, thank you. 14. Because I think it would take all the spontaneity out of dating. 15. My co-op board doesn’t allow spouses. 16. I’d have to forfeit my billion dollar trust fund. 17. They just opened a great singles bar on my block. 18. I wouldn’t want my parents to drop dead from sheer happiness. 19. I guess it just goes to prove that you can’t trust those voodoo doll rituals. 20. What? And lose all the money I’ve invested in running personal ads? 21. We really want to, but my lover’s spouse just won’t go for it. 22. I don’t want to have to support another person on my paycheck. 23. Nobody would believe me in white. 24. I’m married to my career, although recently we have been considering a trial separation. 25. (And just for all you Single Mothers) Because having a husband and a child would be redundant.

You Asked..."Did I Fall in Love Too Quickly?" Experts and readers answer our members' toughest dating and relationship questions By Wendy Bolton Floyd, Sheila Ellison and Gemini Adams
Updated: Sep 7, 2007
"I am dating a man I think I have fallen in love with quickly. He also seems to like me, but he's a busy man with three kids. He says he'll call or come by but often doesn't follow through with his promises and doesn't ever explain why he hasn't called or stopped by. Do you think he really wants to be with me or am I wasting my time liking him? I can't seem to stop wanting to see him even though he disappoints me regularly." -- Dawn, 39, Lewiston, Idaho
Wendy Bolton Floyd AnswersDawn -- As tempting as it may be to fall in love quickly, please slow down. In the love department, nothing is as dangerous as getting involved too quickly in a relationship. Sustainable relationships take time to cultivate.
He mentions that he is busy with his three kids, which is understandable. But think about it, Dawn. When were you too busy to make time for someone who you really wanted to make time for? With cell phones, emails, instant messages and the ability to text anyone, anywhere, men who say they are going to call but don't are really making it clear that they are not interested.
Any man who is constantly standing you up is simply not worth your time. Frankly, I don't know what about this man has made you fall in love so quickly. Perhaps you feel as though it would be a major ego booster if you were finally able to lasso this guy in. Or maybe your self-esteem (or lack of) enables you to tolerate waiting around for a man who doesn't follow through on his promises.
At the beginning of any relationship, it is important to put your best foot forward. If he doesn't show or give a reason for his MIA behavior, you can just imagine how much his behavior will go downhill if you continue to tolerate this treatment.
Luckily for you, you did not invest too much of your precious time (or your heart) in this relationship. It's not too late to cut this guy loose -- the sooner, the better. Then, take your time and find the right guy, one who appreciates your time and is worthy of your attention.
-------------------------------------------- Ask the Right Questions to Find Your Perfect Partner By Debbie Ford Special to Yahoo! Personals Updated: Sep 7, 2007
When it comes to relationships, how many times have you bought the cover and not the book? Do you have a history of attracting the same type of person, only to wind up at the same undeniable conclusion that he or she is not the one? It may be time to reconsider the questions you ask yourself when evaluating whether a potential partner is right for you.
Many people who are in the market for a long-term relationship are unknowingly shopping for a great package. Almost reflexively, we judge people on the basis of their looks, their financial status or their accomplishments. But as we all know, dating someone who is beautiful but unemployed, or smart but not ambitious, or successful but a workaholic, does not fulfill our romantic desires. By asking a few of the Right Questions, we can broaden our horizons and open ourselves up to meeting people who nourish us, inspire us and share our vision for the future.
Here are a couple of questions you can ask yourself before you go out on your next date:
"Does being with this person add to my life force or do they rob me of my energy?"
A relationship that will sustain us in the long haul should leave us feeling strong and vibrant, not insecure and exhausted. By choosing to surround ourselves with people who feed our life force, we increase our chances of long-term fulfillment.
"Will dating this person bring me long-term fulfillment or will it bring me short-term gratification?"
Many of us fall prey to going out with people who only fulfill a need in the moment. In order to experience long-term fulfillment, we must create and stand in our vision for the future. Only when we have a clear vision of what we are looking for in a partner can we evaluate whether the person we just met is consistent with that vision.
Right Questions such as these will challenge you to look deeply, to clarify and declare what is truly important to you, and to make choices each day that bring you closer to what you want. By asking them and listening to the answers you receive, you can be sure that the next "book" you pick up is one that you'll want to read over and over again. # posted by MinGMinG | 11:16 AM
