Work matters...>

yeah finally signed my revised contract wif my pay increment... hee i mentioned prev tat the head office wanted to gif a 5% rise based on the US pay but they decided to gif a 10% rise instead so tat i get a 5% rise in terms of my sg pay.. tis is such tat i wun get a paycut instead due to the drop in the exchange rate... phew =p

boss juz hired a part timer to help out wif her duties and also help offset my load for the beijing conference... her name's karen and the reason shes doin part time cos she has to help take care of her elderly parents at home... tink she will be comin in 3 full days a wk ba... really nice lady who has a steady experience in wkrg wif big companies and govts... abit weird to hv more colleagues in the office but guess i will get used to it =p boss says its nicer to hv more pple ard :)

hmm actually i recently got to noe the real reason behind y my boss hired her... its cos my boss has tendered her resignation.. yup she goin back to her homeland finland for a job posting at the oil company there.. she will be based back home but still goin to travel globally instead of juz asia which she does here... but she stayin here for another couple of mths more to handover properly since they still finding someone to take over her position... its true tat theres nowhere tat she can climb up to since her next position is our big boss' position hahahahha.... so shes advancing her career in another way lor...

she told me she cried when she broke the news to resign to our big boss cos initially when she came to sg she oni wanted to stay for a yr but she eventually stayed for 5 yrs! so its pretty evident tat she likes tis place and her job veri much... i told her i tot she wdnt be leavin for at least another few yrs more so i was caught off guard tat shes goin to leave already in a couple mths time... she said she could hv left aredi since her new employer has aredi confirmed her but she managed to bargain to assume her new job slightly later.... but the gd thing is tat our big boss welcomes her back anytime if she doesnt like her new job =p

hahaha no wonder she kept askin me whether i happy wif my pay anot... cos she and big boss scared i will leave too... well nt in the near future la... still pretty happy wif tis job... maybe things may change if the colleagues r nt as nice but guess my tolerance level is still high enuff =p hv to do abit of travelling for wrk in aug to malaysia and china so tat my boss can handover some duties to me and my colleague who's based in the middle east... its abit sad tat she wun be able to see the fruits of her hard labor for the beijing conference... haha she asked me whether i wanted to chair the conference and i said no thx.. not tat capable yet... aniway hopefully the new boss will be a nice person like her..

hmm kel's pretty much recovered nw... hammy too :) when he went back the next day for a checkup the doc said there was a small hole in his wound but it closed up afew days later.... he was given 31 days' MC (fwah!) but he said he willl die of boredom and theres no income lor since hes still a newbie at his aunt's co... so betta go back wrk asap =p
