yup finally back to my blog after a hectic wkend... hahaa it was crazy... Beijing hotel - view from door KL hotel - view from window - can you see the see-through bathroom?? KL hotel - view from bedChaleti worked till 7+ on fri and had to rush back to my place to arrange and pick up my luggage to make it in time to check-in b4 9.30pm. took cab and reached ard 9.20 and i realised tat i couldnt carry my luggage at all to the 4th office which is where the check-in office is cos there's no lift!!!!! haiz had to leave my luggage down there at the steps and rushed all the way up to ask the officer to help me carry it up... hee so paiseh and stupid me shd hv tot of calling him to come down to help me pick up. aniway managed to check-in and got a mahjong table juz b4 he knocked off. kel wasnt wif me cos he went to take care of his granny who was in hosp due to infection wif her digestive system and he oni managed to come after 11+.the next morn, we went all the way down to town cos he had an appt wif an eye specialist. he wanted to find out other options cos he was still not used to his progressive lens. aniway when we stepped into the entrance of the building, kel heard an old man talkin to himself and kinda turned his head to look at teh old man.. and the old man saw kel lookin at him and spoke in cantonese dialect: 'wat r u lookin at?!' and then came a string of vulgarities sprouted at us... all along i din noe wat was happening cos i dun understand dialect language until i realized the old man was raising his voice and shouting when we entered the lift to go to the clinic.. kel continuously pressed the lift button to make the lift door close fast cos he was afraid tat the old man wd follow us hahaha... kel said he understood wat the old man was sayin and pretended to ignore him... i totally had no clue wat was goin on! guess ignorance is really bliss =paniway in the end after an hr's consultation, the doc asked him to give himself time to get used to the new glasses and kel paid a freaky 150bucks for this 'conclusion' hahahhhaa.a... then we went to take a look at his granny and i stayed oni for awhile cos meeting dejia and zq in bugis to go back to the chalet tog.. kel had to take over fr his cousins and stay for his turn to take care of granny... the rest were oni coming ard 4 so we had lunch and played some card games/mahjong when the rest arrived. we played a new card game called Chez Geek where you compete to win to become the ultimate slacker! hahahahhaha... cute game and i won! hehehe.... really dep alot on luck too..
ok here's comes teh crazy part.. even tho the bbq driver was scheduled to arrive bet 4-6, he said he wd be late. ok nvm, we waited and were asked to wait at the chalet downstairs even tho i aredi indicated the driver to go to the bbq area. then a call came and said he was waiting at the bbq area!!! ok so we went searchin for the pit (ok my fault here also cos i din research hw to go to the beach area - i assumed it was very near the chalet) and the driver called me sayin he couldnt wait cos he had 2 more deliveries to go... so i asked him to come to the chalet to find me instead... wanted to ask him to ferry us to the bbq area but he refused.. so we had to carry all the food to the bbq area ourselves by cab... wah real bad service manz... but luckily they called to say they will absorb the cab fares....
the bbq went quite well cept tat the charcoal doesnt seem to be enuff ahhahahaha it says 3kg but it looks like 300g... but otherwise food is not too bad... one of the chalet key sets and bihua's glasses got lost in the area but luckily they were found... as usual lots of food left so we packed it up nicely in a foam box to take back for supper... went back to chalet by cab in two batches.. we continued wif our card game and kel was back fr the hosp when he asked abt the bbq food since we had alot of leftovers.... then we realized tat the box of food was left in the cab's boot!!!! hahhaaha free food for the driver... so tat was abt it for the chalet...
KLyup then went to the airport for my biz trip... kel was wif me when my colleague was waiting for me so they met =p she commented tat he din look much older than me and quite boyish looking hehehehe.... wow another suay thing happened... she lost her luggage and it got directed to sydney instead of sg fr bahrain... hahahhaa so we had to make sure it gets to KL b4 she leaves!! so in the meantime she din hv clothes so she did some shoppin at KLCC which was near our hotel. and i prepared my notes b4 we went for dinner and then i practised my ppt wif her.. pretty stress since i cant really rem to say so much things within 30min... aniway juz go wif the flow ba...ok la next day ppt was not too bad... the schedule for their internal strategic planning was delayed so we had to cut short our ppts.. so i spoke like a choo choo train and my colleague said it was gd in tat instance since i am the sort to speak to the pt aniway... then we had some meetings wif other companies b4 goin back to hotel for preparation for next day's meeting wif a client and i had to be the rep on the conf call to US the next day as well so bz preparing notes... next day meeting went well too and colleague managed to get her luggage back as well...hahah i noe some of u r concerned abt when my new boss comin.. well no new boss cos my boss's stayin in the co. but oni until end of tis yr as the asia boss to make sure the beijing conference runs well and then she will be posted to the US next yr as boss of the main consulting product. yep and we will hv another colleague posted to here fr the US cos theres smth wrong wif his visa application. he's indian tats y they post him here ba but he a vehicle expert so he wun be takin over my boss position...so my mideast colleague will continue to take charge of us after my boss leaves... so there u hv it... and our co's VP juz recently dropped me an email recognizing my efforts hahahahahaha.... cos my colleague reported back to him sayin wat a wonderful job i am doin in asia... guess they r doin this to make sure i dun run away once my boss leaves hehehe....kel granny also juz got discharged so she's fine nw... the doc says its infection of digestion system so nt really very serious.. juz on medication will do... we visited her once more at the hosp juz after i came back fr KL and b4 she was discharged and it was the first time i bumped into almost all his relatives at one time! hehehe... 3 of his uncles and an aunt was there... hmm some pics here fr the beijing hotel i stayed at as well as the KL hotel... wah the KL hotel super cool!!! its called studio room and its bathroom is totally see through!!! hahaha as my colleague puts it it gives u an erotic feel! hahhahahahaha....
